Si sentiva il mare, come una slavina continua, tuono incessante di un temporale figlio di chissà che cielo. Non smetteva un attimo. Non conosceva stanchezza. E clemenza. Se lo guardi non te ne accorgi: di quanto rumore faccia.
Ma nel buio...tutto quell'infinito diventa solo fragore, muro di suono, urlo assillante e cieco. Non lo spegni, il mare, quando brucia nella notte.
Si sentì scoppiare nella testa una bolla di vuoto. La conosceva bene quella segreta esplosione, invisibile dolore irraccontabile.
Non era tanto quel freddo che le filtrava dentro, e nemmeno il cuore, impazzito, o il sudore dappertutto, gelido, o di tremore delle mani. Il peggio era quella sensazione di sparire, di uscire dalla propria testa, di essere soltanto indistinto panico e sussulti di paura. Pensieri come brandelli di ribellione -brividi -il volto irrigidito in una smorfia per riuscire a tenere gli occhi chiusi - per riuscire a non guardare il buio, orrore senza scampo. Una guerra.

Because in Italy students are taught since young age that if you don’t know English you will never go far in life. Since I always wanted to see the world, the idea of spending the rest of my life on a small island in the south of Italy both scared me and made me terribly sad. So I kind of started seeing English as my way to escape that reality and a ticket to a happy life traveling around so I did my best to learn it (Tumblr and internet taught me more than school actually). I think I’m average good anyway, still learning, still loving Italian more. I blog in English because this way people from all around the world can communicate with me and understand my posts etc.
